About Us
Who are we, really?
We're Brent and Heidi, the creators of Cartwright Collective. Our journey started by accident in 2019. Brent grew up in a DIY, super handy family and has always been creating, crafting and making. His dad was a master wood carver, specializing in chip carving, and his grandpa, a master carpenter, devoted thousands of hours to Habitat for Humanity building houses. After they passed, Brent acquired all of their tools which began the garage shop - because who really needs to park their cars in a garage in a Cleveland winter??
Heidi LOVES the holidays and hosting. One night, Brent came in from the garage shop with a beautiful charcuterie board in the shape of a Christmas tree. Enamored, Heidi posted it to her Facebook as a humble brag and the next thing you know, Cartwright Collective began!
Brent is the genius mastermind behind every single piece. He has a gift for seeing the beauty in raw cut wood and working with the "imperfections" and wood grains to create unique pieces and Heidi, well, she just likes to talk and find new ways for our pieces to be loved.
Our wood is locally sourced from the greater Cleveland area. Every item that comes out of our shop is carefully, lovingly and meticulously made by hand. Over the years we've been fortunate to be able to reinvest in the garage shop, most recently adding a laser engraver to allow us to put even more thought and heart into custom pieces.
